Missed calls are missed jobs
Most callers don’t leave voicemail. They call the next business on the list.
of small businesses miss at least one call a week.
Upfirst, State of Voice AI 2026of calls to home-service businesses go unanswered, and 47% of those calls are sales leads.
Invocaof calls to auto service shops are missed, and 51% of their phone leads convert.
Invocaof law firms neither answered nor returned a prospective client’s call.
Clio Legal Trends 2024How it works
No new phone system and no app to learn. You keep your number, and we handle the setup.
Keep your number
We turn on conditional call forwarding, so calls you don’t answer (or that come in while you’re on the line) ring through to your AI receptionist.
It answers, honestly
It tells every caller up front that it’s an AI assistant, then answers from your own knowledge base: services, hours, service area, and pricing rules.
Books or escalates
It books appointments on your calendar through Cal.com, and transfers urgent calls (no heat, flooded basement, stranded car) straight to you.
You get the summary
A call summary lands in your email within minutes. Each week we review the transcripts and tune the answers for you.
*71 + your AI number (and *73 to undo it). T-Mobile uses **61*1+number+# for no answer and **67*1 for busy (##004# resets it). On AT&T it’s phone settings or *92/*62. Done-for-you setup means you’re live within 24 hours.

Questions owners ask
Will callers know they’re talking to an AI?
Yes, every time. The greeting says so up front: “Thanks for calling [Your Business], I’m their AI assistant and this call may be recorded.” Surveys show most consumers (80%) want AI disclosed upfront, so we never pretend it’s a person. A caller who wants a human can ask, and urgent calls are transferred to you on plans that include transfer.
Are calls recorded?
Calls may be recorded and transcribed so we can send your summary and review quality. Every call opens with that notice, which covers states that require every party to consent to recording.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number. We turn on conditional forwarding so only calls you don’t answer, or that come in while you’re busy, go to the AI. You can switch it off any time with your carrier’s code (for example, *73 on Verizon).
Will it make calls or texts to my customers?
No. Answerly only answers inbound calls. It doesn’t make AI cold calls or marketing calls on your behalf.
What happens with emergencies?
You choose what counts as urgent (no heat, active leak, a car stranded, a court deadline). On Booked Calendar and Front Desk 24/7, those calls are transferred straight to you or your on-call person. Missed-Call Catcher takes a detailed message and flags it in your summary.
For law firms: does it give legal advice?
Never. For law firms it handles intake only. It collects contact details and the type of matter, books consultations, and says clearly that it can’t give legal advice.
What if I go over my minutes?
You’re never cut off. Extra minutes are billed at your plan’s overage rate: $0.40/min on Missed-Call Catcher, $0.35/min on Booked Calendar, and $0.30/min on Front Desk 24/7. If you keep going over, we’ll tell you when a bigger plan would cost less.
How fast can I be live, and can I cancel?
Most businesses are live within 24 hours of the intake call. Plans are month-to-month, and you can cancel with 30 days’ notice.
What does it actually know about my business?
Only what we put in your knowledge base: services, hours, service area, policies, and how you want pricing questions handled. If it doesn’t know an answer, it takes a message instead of guessing.
